Reed diffusers: placement, refills, and small care tips

Diffusori a bastoncini: posizione, ricariche e piccoli gesti di cura - Kōdō.boutique

Taking care of a reed diffuser involves a few choices: a suitable location, the correct replacement, and care during refilling. The fragrance is part of the experience, but the way the bottle inhabits the room also matters.

Before the first use

Choose a stable and protected surface. Millefiori recommends a mid-height position with natural air circulation, away from heat, direct sunlight, and excessive drafts. The manufacturer advises using the set of reeds intended for the size: follow the instructions on the packaging.

When the scent changes its presence

Flipping the reeds can revive the diffusion. Do so carefully, protecting surfaces and following warnings regarding contact with the fragrance. Consumption varies depending on the room conditions: we do not assign a fixed duration to a bottle that is valid for every home.

The right refill

An Ambra & Rosa refill or a Sandalo Bergamotto refill is used to renew the contents of the reed diffuser. In the Milano selection, the sizes are 250 and 500 ml. The capacity of the refill does not necessarily match that of the bottle to be filled: avoid pouring more than necessary.

The 15 ml water-soluble fragrances are a different type, intended for use with compatible devices. They do not replace the liquid for the reeds.

Renewing the reeds

With the refill, the brand recommends replacing the reeds, which may lose effectiveness with use. In the Milano rattan refills, choose compatibility with the 100 or 250 ml diffuser: the indication identifies the bottle, not a quantity of liquid.

For a gesture when needed, you can instead choose the room spray. To navigate between different compositions, return to the guide to choosing a home fragrance.
